Fore! Four of our Favorite Golf Resorts

Posted by Timbers Resorts on November 1, 2013

Nothing says relaxation more than a beautiful day on the golf course – especially when it’s located in the heart of a luxurious resort in one of the world’s distinctive golf havens. Timbers Resorts has courses on or near several properties, and none of them are your average run-of-the-mill golf club; these are the best of the best. Here’s a look at four of our favorites where you can say “fore” and some of the things that make them special.

1. Mayacama in Sonoma – This private Sonoma golf club and residential community sits in the beautiful hills of northern Sonoma County, California, right in the heart of Wine Country. Its Jack Nicklaus signature golf course has been ranked among the top 100 courses in America. While golf is a favorite in this 675-acre community, there are also plenty of other activities to enjoy, including: tennis, swimming, bocce, a spa, and a culinary program.

Tee-300x1992. The Rocks in Scottsdale – The Rocks is a luxury residence club and Scottsdale golf resort with no shortage of great courses. Golfers who live or stay here have access to several of the best courses in Arizona, including Troon North, Talking Stick, Copper Canyon Golf Club, Golf Club of Estrella, Ocotillo Golf Resort, The Phoenician, Poston Butte Golf Club, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, and Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass.

3. Kapalua on the west coast of Maui is characterized by two championship courses. The Bay Course hosted the 2008 Kapalua LPGA Classic, and The Plantation Course was constructed around the West Maui Mountains. There’s also the Kapalua Golf Academy for the younger set and the annual Hyundai Tournament of Champions held every January.

4. The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe – Dubbed “a place to create memories,” The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe has been a winner of national and regional awards. A magnificent 36,000-square-foot clubhouse offers panoramic views of the golf course, its bridges, lakes, creeks and hillsides beyond. The naturally sculpted, 18-hole, par-71 course has five sets of tees and plays almost 7,000 yards from the tips. Steep cliffs, signature bridges, and magnificent terrain make this one of the finest courses in the world.
